Are You in Control of your Life, or Does Life Control You?

As hard as it may be to hear, life is truly "survival of the fittest." Either you are in control of your life, or someone else is.

I hear you. It isn't fair. But that's the way it is.

While there are some very powerful people working to change this situation, there are no guarantees. It may never change. For the foreseeable future, the question you have to ask yourself is, "What do I have to do to take control of my life?"

You can't do it by simply asking others to be fair.

If someone else holds the power in a situation, and isn't inclined to play fair, you have to convince them that it's in their best interest to make sure you get what you need as well. In many cases, words aren't enough. You have to back up your words with power. To put it bluntly, the other person must be convinced that you have the ability to either reward or punish them depending on whether you get your way.

You can't do it by following the rules.

The rules you live by have been given to you in order to keep you in your place. Governments aren't the only ones telling you what you can and can't do. Religious leaders tell you to be meek and accept whatever they tell you, and suggest that if you don't share your wealth with them, you'll spend eternity suffering for it. Those in power set the rules in such a way that they STAY in power.

You can't do it by creating a scene.

Making a fuss may seem to be the only option left, but it rarely works. Although it may give you an opportunity to blow off some steam, it reveals to those in power that you do not have the personal strength to play the game. As a result, you get even less of what you want.

So the question remains. How DO you take control of your life?

Keep this in mind: In order to HAVE more, you must BE more.

Survival of the fittest, remember? It's about being more powerful than other people, and knowing how to use that power.
