This is where we start getting into the meat of this course. In this section, I’ll share with you the four most important guiding principles, and the core process at the heart of every manifestation technique you’ll ever learn. This is also where you’ll learn what factors make the core process work, and why you’ll want to spend as much time as you can developing them.
So let’s dive right in and get started, okay?
4 Guiding Principles
My sharing this first guiding principle can be compared to the famous football coach that held up a football every year on the first day of training and said, “Gentlemen, this is a football.” You have no doubt heard this before, but it bears repeating.
Power is neutral.
Power itself is neither good nor evil. It’s what you do with it that makes it one or the other. Just as electricity, chemistry, nuclear power, or 100 other forms of power can be used to help or to harm, so can spiritual power.
Over the course of history, many erroneous beliefs have formed around the concept of spiritual power. Some claim that spiritual power can only be used for good, and that it just won’t work if you try to harm anyone with it.
Along a similar line, some folks believe that you have to measure up to a moral standard before you are granted access to spiritual power.
Both of these beliefs are incorrect.
What you do with power is your business, and there’s nothing in the Universe that will stop you from following through with a so-called negative use of power, just as there’s nothing stopping you from putting your hand into a fire and burning yourself.
There may be consequences, but they come from a chain of cause-and-effect relationships and not from a Divine Being passing judgement upon you.
When you look at how the world works, you find that the old “Law of the Jungle” holds true most of the time. The strongest usually win out, or at least the ones most adept at getting the results they set out to manifest.
It’s not always the nicest person who gets the job. Sometimes it’s the one who has a strong track record of getting results. Of course, sometimes the more successful job applicant is the one who displays the most charming personality during the job interview. It depends on what that particular interviewer is looking for, and if you’re the interviewee, it pays to find out ahead of time who you’ll be meeting with and what they respond to most.
The main point I want to get across here is that if you want something, then it’s perfectly okay for you to go after it, using whatever methods will produce the desired results.
Whereas many religious leaders will do their best to make you feel guilty if you want certain things, realize that this is simply their way of trying to control you, and it’s your choice whether you submit to them or not.
Remember the Law of the Jungle.
Consciousness Trumps Physical Reality.
This second guiding principle is here to remind you that the world around you is secondary to what goes on inside your mind. With the proper set of mental conditions (which you’ll learn here in this course), you can change the world around you by changing what goes on inside your mind.
One of the reasons I shared with you some of the things I’ve been able to do with this material was to help you realize the truth of this statement. When you understand that you can control the weather, stop a tornado, and win games of chance BY CHOICE, then you know that your mind has more power than the physical world around you.
Of course, I’m not the only one who has experienced this first-hand. You can find examples of this throughout history. In fact, the scientific community has a name for it, despite the fact that they adamantly deny that it has any validity. The name they use to describe consciousness overcoming physical reality is “the placebo effect.”
If the medical profession put any real effort into understanding how the placebo effect works, beyond a basic surface understanding, the health-care industry would undergo a radical transformation.
But then, where would they make their money?
It’s a bit foolish to expect an industry to pursue a line of research that will eliminate their primary source of income, don’t you agree?
If you want more information on the many scientific studies that have revealed how consciousness trumps physical reality, I recommend you read Michael Talbot’s The Holographic Universe. I could give you a long list of books, but this one will lead you to others if you are so inclined. Of course, you could also get a copy of my own book, Choose To Believe, which points out several scientific studies showing that our beliefs are in direct control over what we experience physically.
Of course, science isn’t the only source of information. The long history of positive results from prayer, affirmations, visualization, and a host of other mental processes used to produce physical manifestations provides substantial evidence that there’s something to the idea.
As they say, there’s certainly a lot of smoke to be without a fire.
You Are the Operator, Not the Machine.
A sticking point for many is the idea that they are supplying all of the power required to produce the intended results. Consequently, these folks try to strain their “mental muscles” in an attempt to overcome perceived obstacles.
There are a couple of problems with this approach.
First, if you believe there are obstacles to overcome, then you are limiting yourself and what you can accomplish. One of the primary factors you’ll learn about shortly is that your beliefs influence practically everything you experience, including your use of spiritual power to manifest results.
Along a similar line, if you believe that you have to strain yourself to accomplish a task, then you are operating with a belief in limited power, which will also limit your results. It really is important to have a firm belief that you are working with unlimited power, and this power can EASILY accomplish whatever you intend it to do for you.
One of the easiest ways to establish this belief is to use a “working model” where you are the operator, and the Universe is the machine that responds to the intention and beliefs you have within your mind.
Whether this is the way reality actually works or not doesn’t matter. What matters is that when you approach the task with this mindset, you get better results.
Think of it as driving a car. You don’t turn the wheels with your own power. If you want to go faster, you push the pedal further down. Easy, right? When you want to manifest a ton of money, you don’t have to strain yourself to “push” or “attract” the money into your life experience. You just make the required changes within your mind, and wait for the new “vibration” to resonate out into the world and manifest as increased financial abundance.
If you think of yourself as a remote control for a giant manifesting machine, you’ll find the right balance easier than with practically any other working model.
Creating Beautiful Results Takes Practice.
This final guiding principle is a reminder that manifesting is a skill and requires just as much practice as playing a musical instrument, painting, sculpting, or mastering photography.
A beginner in any of these art-forms can produce simple results relatively quickly and easily, however, truly masterful results come only to those who spend hours and hours and hours practicing over many years.
Your first results won’t be perfect, although you should start to see SOME results within the first few weeks. The more you work at it, the better you will become, and the more you’ll get results you can be proud of.
Resolve now to commit yourself to regular practice, and do not allow yourself to quit before you attain whatever level of proficiency you wish to attain.
As long as you stick with it, I guarantee you’ll get the results you’re after.
